Consumer Resource Group Adopts MSTARS Debt Settlement Compliance Training
Consumer Resource Group has adopted the MSTARS debt settlement compliance curriculum into its otherwise rigorous training programs. The training meets or exceeds the disclosure requirements prescribed in the new FTC debt settlement rule.

Developed with insight from state attorney general offices and the Federal Trade Commission, MSTARS compliance training helps avoid missteps that have resulted in regulatory action in the past. As such, MSTARS training will help ensure Consumer Resource Group is compliant with the new debt settlement rule that was approved by the FTC earlier this month.

MSTARS curriculum complements the consultative approach used by Consumer Resource Group's counselors. Similar to what might be found with a traditional consumer credit counseling service, CRG's counselors help with family budgeting, but are also able to explore options that are not available through credit counseling, such as debt settlement.

While the FTC acknowledges that debt settlement is a viable alternative to bankruptcy, it has been notably concerned with the lack of disclosure during the enrollment process.
